Meet Dr. Mike
If you're an active adult dealing with pain that just won't go away — the kind that's starting to limit your workouts, your hobbies, or the things you used to do without thinking — you're exactly who Dr. Mike built this practice for.
Dr. Michael J. Guardino ("Dr. Mike") opened Functional Chiropractic & Rehab to give the Raleigh area a different kind of care: comprehensive, hands-on, one-on-one rehab programs designed to find the root cause of your pain — not just chase symptoms with a quick adjustment and send you on your way.
He gets it because he lives it. Dr. Mike is in the gym regularly, out on bike rides and hikes, and on the field playing sports whenever he can. He understands firsthand what it means to want your body to keep up with the life you want to live — and he's built his entire approach around helping patients get back to (or stay in) that active lifestyle for the long haul.
Originally from Baldwinsville, NY (just outside Syracuse), Dr. Mike earned his Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition, Foods & Exercise from Virginia Tech in 2018 — Go Hokies! He went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic – Florida, graduating cum laude. During his time at Palmer, he trained with the Motion Palpation Institute and became a certified MPI doctor, sharpening the hands-on diagnostic and treatment skills that are now central to how he works with every patient.
Dr. Mike specializes in sports performance, injury prevention, and neuromuscular re-education. Whether you're trying to get out of pain, return to the activities you love, or push your performance to the next level — he'll build a plan that's built specifically for you and your goals.
When he's not in the office, you'll find him at the gym, on a hike or bike ride, watching or playing sports, or hanging out with his family and three dogs — Sadie, Oakley, & Bentley.
